The reality is that, on average, breathing the air in Mumbai for one day is equivalent to 100 cigarettes a day. And during Diwali every year, it becomes worse. This year, according to the data published by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, breathing the air in Mumbai for one day during Diwali was equivalent to 113 cigarettes.
