Marie Curie was a French-Polish physicist and chemist,her notebooks are still radioactive she and her husband made some amazing scientific discoveries. She was the first famous woman scientists in the modern world. She was the first person to win a Nobel prize and the first person to win a Nobel prize in 2 disciplines (physics and chemistry).

However, the work had its toll. Some of her research uncovered some pretty radioactive elements that took a toll on her health, and ultimately, her life. She and her daughter contracted leukemia due to the radioactive exposure, and passed away. Her research notebooks were exposed to so much radiation that they still can't safely be handled!
